Y Ulau Reed is originally from Merced, California, a small town and
county named after a river that flowed beside it with the motto “Water
Wealth Contentment and Health.” River waters come to do two things
as I would learn in that town, it can either bring into your life the dirt
from some place up the stream, issues that impact you that were not
caused by you, or it can wash all the dirt away.
I’ve had those moments of impact that invoked a level of my
imagination for what my life could be while escaping the moment of
abuse I found myself an unwilling participant of, first in Merced and
later after we relocated to Utah, apparently the only connection the
mountains and the valley shared during those times in my life was that
abuse was a tourist in both cities and I was its main attraction it
seemed. As you will find out the longer you engage with me on this
platform I am an open book to one in need of a lesson to be learned. I
offer my lessons and invite you to help me tell the story that our
community resists telling. Healing is needed in our communities and I
am here for that.
The question that could be extracted and asked would be why
would we not talk about it if communication heals? Strong people
never resist the healing aspect so much as simply we resist the idea
that we were ever so broken that we even needed that much healing to
begin with.
We can heal together here at PepperLakeCity. Come join—Let’s
talk about it!

Content creator, Andre Wilkins is a North Carolina son, brother and native to the small town of Ahoskie. A city with the welcoming quote of “We are the only one” it is sometimes a forgotten haven for the retired and paradise to the socially reclusive. Growing up in a town with minimal social outlets and overflowing with grandparents and old parents you would think it would be difficult to find trouble, if my teachers had only graded me on the trouble I could find my grades would have been stellar. Still the only course I ever failed in school was Gym. Now before you ask the inevitable question let me first ask, why would a gym teacher want to make his students dance to You Should Be Dancing by Bee Gees every day for 20 minutes while he sits there and eats peanuts? The ultimate lesson to be learned it seems is when the man that eats peanuts and controls whether you pass or fail says dance you probably should. I graduated on time and I went on to go to an HBCU and major in Business Administration, and collecting a certification over the years. The value of education is unrivaled. The people we encounter become the particle accelerators of our life shifting the trajectory of how we perceive ourselves to be, Ralph Waldo Emerson once said “The mind, once stretched by a new idea, never returns to its original dimensions”. The Bee Gees You Should Be Dancing song is the rhythm with which I have learned to live life as I’ve accrued invaluable knowledge in universal principles that helped me succeed, and honed valued skills that has positioned me to become a great man, friend, leader to the youth, volunteer for the homeless, volunteer for habitat for humanity, stock trader, supervisor; and now with Onyxx Monopoly we endeavor to talk with you, and share with you our insights on trending topics and forgotten stories that may change what you thought you knew.
